had a dream last night where she was
reading me her poem about rivers and sun and trees and springs and
it was raining,
we were outside but the sun was out,
how typical, Colorado.
we promised to meet again sometime.

I had to kill a mouse
by breaking its neck,
I realized she was pregnant as her
body went limp--
I thought I saw a twitch, and then
there were all the poor babies
moving inside of her.

The new driver is a
milf.
Not the desperate
housewives kind, but the
kind who would give it to you
in a cheap, crazy way, she
looks like she should be
serving me grits at 2am
in a waffle house,
off the highway.
She looks like she's
nice, though, with her
wrinkles and
smile lines.

I'm all of a sudden feeling sorry
for a lot of dead frogs, and
a lot of ruined relationships, and some
that I was too scared to let happen.

I'm sorry I still can't love, completely,
and I still can't apologize, enough.

prettily
amongst the stars,
I saw my
